Patna District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh instructed the officials to speed up the implementation of the metro rail projects while reviewing the progress on Friday during which land acquisition, transfer of land and other issues related to implementation were discussed.
The meeting reviewed the progress of the metro rail project in areas like Patna Zoo, Akashwani, Gandhi Maidan, Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH), Patna University and Rajendra Nagar Station. Singh directed the circle officer to form a dedicated team with more resources and manpower to expedite land transfer and acquisition cases.
In Pahadi and Ranipur Mauza, the process of acquiring 75.945 acres of land for the metro rail depot is underway. Singh directed the Circle Officer and Deputy Collector (Land Reforms) to carry out the work on priority.
Various obstacles such as obstructions, traffic jams, relocation of structures present on the route were also discussed. "The Patna metro rail project is progressing smoothly. Small problems that arise will be carefully removed by the officials concerned," Singh said. He added, "The metro rail project would offer the best mode of public transport to the residents. Traffic congestion will be solved and the burden on the currently available infrastructure will also be reduced."
Under Section 107 of the Penal Code (Criminal Code), strict action will be taken against individuals who obstruct the implementation of the regime and are motivated by self-interest. The District Magistrate also directed the policemen to be alert and complete all works on time.
"The district administration is determined to provide the best facilities to the residents. Metro work is progressing rapidly in Patna," said Singh.
